I’m not entirely clear on the difference between these and the beef treats for adults—maybe it’s just the size? Regardless, my dog enjoys them, and they make for a fantastic snack for both him and us!

I’ve tried various brands of beef and turkey sticks from Amazon, and I usually lean towards beef. I recently sampled the Mission Meats beef sticks for the first time, and I must say, the packaging was a major drawback. It was so difficult to open that even scissors struggled with the plastic!
Once I finally managed to get into the package after what felt like an eternity, the taste was decent—lightly flavored—and the texture was acceptable, even through the casing. However, in comparison to my current favorites on Amazon, I don’t think I’ll be ordering these again. They simply don’t measure up to PaleoValley in terms of packaging quality, flavor, and texture. I haven’t tried their turkey sticks yet.
Here’s a quick rundown of other brands I’ve tried:
1) The New Primal Beef Stick: Good flavor, but the packaging was a hassle. The taste was mild, with a soft texture that wasn’t mushy. It lacks the smoky flavor of PaleoValley. I might order these again, depending on how the others compare.
2) The New Primal Turkey Stick – Cilantro Lime: Disappointing! It tasted like raw turkey mixed with ground feathers and had minimal cilantro lime flavor. Definitely a skip for me.
3) Vermont – Sample Pack: Beef remains my favorite, but the pepperoni was enjoyable. The packaging was easy to open, and the flavor was medium—chewy but not greasy. I would order these again.
4) Lorissa’s Kitchen – Original Beef: Simple to open with a mild flavor and good texture, but still doesn’t beat PaleoValley. Likely won’t reorder.
5) Sogo Beef Sticks: Easy to open and had a nice medium spice flavor. They felt thinner than others, with a medium texture that was chewy but not soft. I might order these again, but they still fall short of PaleoValley. These are grass-fed.
6) SweetWood – FATTY Variety Pack & Regular Original FATTY Beef Sticks: I enjoyed the smoky flavor and the variety, although I gave away the jalapeño one. The packaging was easy to open, and the texture was chewy. They’re my second favorite after PaleoValley.
7) SweetWood – Bully Bars – Original Beef: Good flavor but tough to bite into and chew. The packaging was easy to open, but I probably won’t buy these again as they don’t surpass PaleoValley.
On a positive note about Mission Meats, I didn’t find any mold on the sticks, but their packaging could benefit from better quality control, especially for those with limited hand mobility. PaleoValley’s beef sticks and summer sausage remain my top choice for taste.

Tasty – both kids and adults enjoy them!

I spent $100 on the grass-fed sticks, but they arrived looking discolored and unappetizing. The coloring varied significantly, especially at both ends of the sticks. I would like to return them so the company can examine the product, as they appear unsafe to consume. I tried a couple, and they didn’t taste right either. If the company could contact me, I would be happy to send these back and request a fresh batch.

This meat stick is perfect for kids—it’s not overly spicy or salty. The size is ideal for little hands, and it’s a fantastic addition to school lunches. Definitely worth adding to a subscription!

I purchased these for travel, and they’re compact and healthier since they contain no artificial ingredients or preservatives. I plan to order them again, but I’m deducting one star due to an initial fishy flavor. I personally don’t mind it, but my partner isn’t a fan, which might actually encourage me to buy them again so he won’t eat my snacks!

Excellent product, but delivery was slow.

These beef sticks are my absolute favorite! The texture, flavor, and ingredients are all excellent. They may be a bit pricey, but the quality makes it worth it.

These have a distinct flavor and are more tender compared to popular brands. Personally, I found them a bit salty, but since I usually don’t enjoy saltiness unless it’s on french fries, take that with a grain of salt—pun intended. Overall, I did enjoy them.

I took the 24-pack on a 5-day portage in Algonquin Park, and they were fantastic over the fire. The collagen casing crisps up beautifully, and the meat inside is full of flavor. I looked forward to these the most. I do think a slight price reduction of $3-$5 would be nice. The meat sticks are a good size, and the quality is excellent. It’s a great purchase. Plus, each stick is individually wrapped, just like you’d find at a gas station. 24 sticks in total!

The flavor is decent. I appreciate being able to bring grass-fed meat along for hikes, road trips, and other occasions that call for quality snacks. While the meat’s color is a bit unappealing (a dull grey-brown), the overall taste is satisfying.

I was a bit concerned about the flavor being bland after reading some reviews, but those concerns were unfounded. The taste is excellent—exactly the classic smoky, peppery flavor you would expect. However, it is still on the pricey side.

I would advise against buying from Mission Meats. One of the beef sticks in the variety pack I bought was covered in mold, which makes me hesitant to eat the remaining 11 sticks, even though they appear fine. I ended up throwing them all away. The variety pack cost nearly $25 for 12 sticks.
