UPDATE: I’ve had this blender for nearly 2 years, using it 3-4 times a week for smoothies, and I’ve encountered no issues. Recently, I decided to try a more powerful option, so I ordered the Ninja BN301 Nutriblender for $60. Here are the key differences:
I’m returning the Ninja BN301.
I own a large Cuisinart blender that I seldom use because it’s too cumbersome for most tasks. I considered the Hamilton Beach personal blender, but with only 175 watts, it seemed underpowered. This 300-watt unit feels just right for my needs.
To clarify, I also own a Cuisinart food processor and immersion blender, and I purchased the LaReveuse Smoothies Blender specifically for making smoothies.
Now, let’s address some comments from other users:
Regarding the tabs breaking off: The jar has three sturdy tabs (lugs) that secure it to the motor base. I can’t imagine how someone could break one off. Even if they did, replacement jars, lids, and blades are available on Amazon.
As for the locking tabs, they not only secure the jar but also act as the switch for the motor. There’s no visible switch on the motor base. Just align the tabs with the slots and push down for a momentary on. Ease up to turn it off. To keep the motor running (no more than 1 minute as per the manufacturer’s instructions), press down and give the jar a slight clockwise turn. To turn it off, a slight counterclockwise turn does the trick. If you don’t want the motor to activate when plugging it in, simply don’t lock the jar onto the motor. It’s that straightforward.
Addressing concerns about jar flexibility: It’s not as rigid as glass (and won’t break like glass), but it’s certainly not flimsy. It has a slight flex if squeezed hard, but under normal handling, you won’t notice any flexibility.
Now, how well does it work? I bought this specifically for smoothies. My typical recipe includes: 1 peach (skin on), 1/2 banana, a big handful of blueberries, one individual serving cup (5.3 oz) of yogurt (plain or flavored), and about 1/4 to 1/3 cup of low-fat milk. I combine everything, screw on the blade cap, place the jar on the motor base, and gently press down. I pulse a few times (2-3 seconds each), then blend for about 10-15 seconds. And that’s it! For 20 bucks, it’s hard to find anything to complain about.

For the price, this blender is fantastic, though it does have a few drawbacks. Let’s start with the positives.
First, it’s very user-friendly. There’s no button to turn it on or off, which initially puzzled me. You simply place the mixing cup in and push down to engage the motor. If you twist while pressing down, it stays on, and untwisting stops it. It’s really quite straightforward with fewer components to potentially malfunction. I can’t speak to the motor’s strength since I primarily use it for making my protein shakes at work—just almond milk and powder—which don’t require a powerful motor. Perhaps one day I’ll try making a smoothie.
Cleaning is a breeze. As long as the blending part is securely attached to the cup, it doesn’t need regular cleaning like the rest of the device. Just unscrew the bottom with the blades, rinse it under hot water with soap, and it’s done in seconds. The bottle is equally easy to clean, which I appreciate.
However, the lid that comes with the cup is more suited for toddlers. The opening is ridiculously small, making it impractical for adults. You could flip it upside down and not much would come out. It would be great if they included a second lid with a larger opening for adults.
I’m also not a fan of the string attached to the lid, but it’s easily removable, which I did. If you like it, you probably won’t mind it.
The only remaining question is how long the product will last before I can confidently recommend it for the long term. For now, it’s easy to recommend, but keep in mind I haven’t had it long enough to assess its durability. One day I’ll attempt that smoothie and add to this review. Until then, I’m cautiously optimistic and really enjoying it so far.

I absolutely love my blender! It effortlessly blends a variety of ingredients, and the travel-friendly lid is a fantastic feature. I got it in pink, and it’s really beautiful.

I’ve tried several blenders, including the Magic Bullet, Nutri Bullet, and a gimmicky one from Showcase (definitely avoid that!). This one is by far the best. It performs excellently, with a larger cup size than most, and comes with a convenient drinking lid and carrying loop. I’m really impressed with it; it exceeds my expectations. Solid build and an amazing value for the price!

I’m a fan of the design, and it functions flawlessly.

I purchased this for making smoothies while on the go. It serves my needs adequately and is compact and lightweight for easy packing. I don’t anticipate it to match the power of my Bullet blender at home.

I make smoothies with this mixer, and it’s fantastic! This is the best blender for smoothies. I previously had a larger model but left it behind when I moved because it was too heavy. I ordered this one from Amazon, and I couldn’t be happier! It’s compact yet powerful! It blends all fruits seamlessly; you might need to give it a little shake occasionally, but that’s it—it’s perfect! There’s no need for a bulky, pricey model!

Incredibly powerful! It effortlessly handles frozen fruit and even leafy vegetables without any issues. Occasionally, I need to add a bit of juice when the veggies are a bit dry, but that’s completely understandable. Overall, I really like it!
